BASIC INFORMATION

HOW TO GET TO THE HOTEL?

By car:
M3 motorway (from Budapest or Debrecen)
Coming from Budapest or Debrecen on the M3 motorway, leave the motorway at the Gyöngyös West exit. After the exit, follow the signs to Mátrafüred (main road 24).
Exit the town and continue on the main road 24 towards Mátrafüred.
After leaving Mátrafüred, continue up the hill on road 24.
Sástó is on the left, and after leaving Sástó, you will see a small bus stop on your right in about 2 km, and next to it you will see the road leading up to the hotel entrance, which you will follow to the hotel car park and the hotel.
 

By public transport
By bus:
From Gyöngyös bus station, take the Volánbusz bus from Gyöngyös-Kékestető to Mátraháza.
From Budapest Stadionok bus station, take the express bus between Budapest-Kékestető terminus to Mátraháza stop.
The bus ticket must be purchased for the Mátraháza, üdülők stop!

WHERE IS THE HOTEL LOCATED?

IS IT POSSIBLE TO BOOK A ROOM FOR ANOTHER PERSON?

Yes, it is possible. In this case, you will need to provide your name and telephone number as the Customer and the Guest's contact details when making the reservation so that you can receive our confirmation e-mail.

HOW DO I KNOW MY BOOKING HAS BEEN CONFIRMED?

All bookings will be confirmed by e-mail within 24 hours.

WHAT ARE THE CANCELLATION CONDITIONS FOR RESERVATIONS?

You are free to cancel or modify your reservation up to 14 days before the arrival date (at the prices valid at the time of modification), after which the fee is 50% of the reservation amount. The deposit paid or the card details provided at the time of booking may be used to cover the penalty in case of late cancellation or no-show.

I WANT TO BOOK, DO I HAVE TO PAY A DEPOSIT?

A 50% deposit is required to make a reservation. The deposit can be paid by debit or credit card, by bank transfer or by SZÉP card in the name of the guest making the reservation. The booking will only be considered valid if the card transaction is successful or the deposit is paid by the deadline.

WHAT SHOULD I DO IF I HAVE A QUESTION ABOUT MY EXISTING BOOKING AND WANT TO MAKE CHANGES?

In all cases, please contact us by referring to the Order ID number on your confirmation.

ARRIVAL

WHY DO I HAVE TO PRESENT MY PHOTO ID AT THE RECEPTION UPON ARRIVAL?

  • From 1 September 2021, accommodation providers in Hungary will be obliged to record the personal data of all guests on arrival, either on a document reader or manually, as defined by law.
  • Please be informed that from 01.09.2021, you will only be able to check in to our hotel with a photo ID, except for children under 14 years of age, as thanks to Government Decree 584/2021 (14.X.), from 29 October until the end of the state of emergency, children will not be required to present an identity document to register their personal data, nor will they be required to register their document ID.
  • Under the Decree, personal data required by law (Act CLVI of 2016 on State Duties for the Development of Tourist Areas) may be recorded by the accommodation establishment on the basis of a declaration by a representative (e.g. parent, guardian) for guests under 14 years of age. In the event of cancellation due to legal requirements (lack of identification), the cancellation conditions stated in the confirmation shall apply.

WHAT TIME IS CHECK-IN?

Check-in is from 15:00, if guests arrive earlier, luggage storage is available. Earlier check-in can be requested but is not guaranteed. Guests can use our wellness area free of charge on the day of arrival.

CHECK OUT

BEFORE WHEN DO I HAVE TO LEAVE THE ROOM ON THE DAY OF DEPARTURE?

Please leave the rooms/villas until 10.00 a.m. on the day of departure, and please inform us in advance if you wish to leave later, depending on our capacity and for an extra charge (until 1.00 p.m. 12.500 HUF/room, 40.000 HUF/villa, until 4.00 p.m. 25.000 HUF/room, 80.000 HUF/villa).

CAN I USE THE HOTEL'S WELLNESS FACILITIES ON THE DAY OF DEPARTURE?

Our guests can use our wellness area free of charge on the day of departure, and we can provide a luggage storage on request.

WHAT PAYMENT OPTIONS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE HOTEL?

Our hotel offers Visa, Maestro, Eurocard, Mastercard, SZÉP card (OTP, MKB, K&H), American Express and cash payment options.

HOW CAN I GET AN INVOICE FOR MY BOOKING?

In all cases, we issue an invoice to our travelling guests on departure, which includes the services used up to that point and their value.

The hotel's Superior rooms, with a variety of designs, offer our guests a wonderful setting, exclusive finishes and unrivalled panoramic views for the ultimate in comfort.

The deluxe rooms are double rooms with beautiful interiors and offer a truly luxurious stay. The spacious bedroom is complemented by a living room.

  • Executive Room

Our room type is an exclusive love nest especially designed for couples. The panoramic or park view "love suite" rooms are designed with huge opening glass doors and a jacuzzi located in front of them.

  • Suite

Our renovated one or two-bedroom suites with luxurious interiors offer the ultimate in relaxation. The size of the floor space and the unique solutions offer our guests unsurpassed comfort.

ARE THERE CONNECTING ROOMS IN THE HOTEL?

We have 3 pairs of Superior double connecting rooms, 2 of which have a view of the Kékestető, and 2 of our Superior connecting rooms have a view of the hotel park. Our Sapphire Suite also connects to 1 Superior room with a view of the Kékes.

IS THERE A COFFEE MACHINE IN THE ROOMS?

Our Executive Rooms, Suites and Luxury Forest Villas have a capsule coffee maker with complimentary coffee and tea daily. In our Superior and Deluxe rooms this service is available for an extra charge. The capsule coffee maker includes 4 coffee capsules + 4 tea bags and all the necessary accessories (coffee cream, sugar, etc.), fully stocked and replenished every day. Price: 3.900.- Ft / room / night. In addition, we would like to inform our guests that a deposit of HUF 40,000 will be charged to their room account for the use of the capsule coffee machine, which will be cancelled on the day of departure after the item has been checked.

IS THERE A KETTLE IN THE ROOMS?

It is available at the reception for a deposit of 15.000.-Ft.

DOES THE HOTEL HAVE A ROOM FOR DISABLED PEOPLE?

The hotel is designed to accommodate people with reduced mobility. Disabled guests can feel comfortable in the accessible common areas and in the three dedicated rooms.

IS SMOKING ALLOWED IN THE ROOMS?

Smoking is not allowed in the entire hotel, including the rooms. Smoking is permitted on balconies and in designated areas outside the building.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO REQUEST AN EXTRA BED IN THE ROOM?

Most of our rooms can accommodate extra beds, adult, children's or baby beds.

IS THERE A SAFE IN THE ROOM?

Yes, it is built into the wardrobe. The service is free of charge. The size of our safes is 197x439x308 and the size of the door is 149x382.

CAN I REQUEST AN EXTRA PILLOW?

If necessary, an extra pillow can be requested, or on request we can provide different types of pillows, our guests can choose from our pillow selection.

CAN I ORDER FOOD AND DRINKS IN MY ROOM/VILLA?

Of course, room service is available at our hotel. We do not charge an extra free.

WHAT ROOM SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

We are happy to prepare a mini cake for you in our hotel. You can choose from the following flavours:

  • Tonka bean dark chocolate mousse cake
  • Raspberry chocolate opera cake
  • Strawberry white chocolate mousse cake
  • Mango pistachio cake
  • Valencia orange cake filled with coffee cream
  • Chestnut cake with sour cherries

The price of the mini cake made by our pastry chef is 6.900 Ft.

The fruit platter, always selected by our chef, contains seasonal local and southern fruits, priced 4.800 Ft, fruit platter extra 6.900 Ft

On arrival, a delicious selection of bonbons and desserts, selected by our excellent pastry chef, will be prepared in the room at a price of 3.900 Ft, bon-bon extra 7.490 Ft

As a non-hotel guest, you can of course use the Panorama Wellness and the Cave Spa, which is spread over 3 floors and more than 2000 m2.

  • Weekend (Fri-Sun-Sun) 8:00 - 21:00, by prior arrangement: 12.000 Ft /person
  • Weekday (Mon-Sun) 8:00 - 21:00 hrs: 10.000 Ft/person
  • Weekday evening wellness (Mon-Sat) 18:00-21:00: 7.000 Ft/person

WHEN CAN I USE THE WATERSLIDE?

The slide is open from 10 am to 12 and from 3 pm to 5 pm.

HOW DEEP IS THE CHILDREN'S POOL?

The depth varies from 15 cm to 45 cm.

WHERE AND HOW TO BOOK A MASSAGE?

You can book a massage at the wellness reception or from your room by calling the 800 number, which is directly connected to the wellness area. You can also book in advance by e-mailing wellness@hotelozon.hu.

DO WE HAVE A SWIMMING POOL?

Our hotel does not have a dedicated swimming pool, we are all about relaxation and recreation.

WHAT SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE IN THE WELLNESS AREA?

Whether it's a classic body massage, body treatment and ritual, a facial massage, a massage for pregnant ladies or a couples treatment, our hotel has a service to suit everyone's needs and expectations.

FOOD AND DRINKS

WHAT IS INCLUDED IN THE HALF BOARD?

Half board at our hotel includes a breakfast buffet and a buffet dinner. Breakfast includes a variety of pastries and a selection of hot and cold dishes. Dinner includes min. 4 starters, 2 soups - min. 5 main courses with matching side dishes - freshly prepared food available in the show kitchen - min. 3 desserts - fruit and salad bar. We also offer a special selection for children.

WHEN CAN I HAVE BREAKFAST AND DINNER AT THE HOTEL?

Breakfast is served in the restaurant between 07:30 and 10:00 and dinner is served in the restaurant between 18:00 and 21:00.

Our colleagues may ask you in advance about your restaurant requirements or inform you about available times. For your comfort and safety, please assist our staff in assessing your needs.

THE PRICE INCLUDES BREAKFAST AND DINNER, WHERE CAN I HAVE LUNCH?

You can choose from a variety of permanent and seasonal dishes from our A'la Carte menu in our air-conditioned Mátra Panorama Restaurant.

HOW LONG IS THE RESTAURANT OPEN?

The kitchen is open until 22:00 and our waiters are available until 23:00.

CAN ONLY HOTEL GUESTS EAT IN THE RESTAURANT?

Our restaurant is also open to non-hotel guests.

IS THERE A DRESS CODE IN THE RESTAURANT?

Comfortable and elegant attire is recommended in the restaurant. It is not allowed to wear bathing suits or bathrobes.

I HAVE A FOOD ALLERGY. IS IT POSSIBLE FOR ME TO EAT DIFFERENT MEALS?

Of course, please let us know your sensitivity when booking so that we can provide you with suitable meals.

WHEN IS THERE LIVE MUSIC IN THE RESTAURANT?

In the evenings on Monday, Friday and Saturday.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN THE RESTAURANT ACCOMMODATE?

Our air-conditioned Mátra Panorama Restaurant can accommodate up to 330 people. In addition to our standard menu, we also offer seasonal specials. 

IS THERE A BAR IN THE HOTEL?

Our hotel has three different bars for our guests, which are:

  • Lobby bar (ground floor) open from 09:00 to 22:00
  • Wellness drink bar (Wellness area) 09:00-19:00
  • Restaurant bar (Mátra Restaurant) 07:30-23:00

CHILDREN'S SERVICES

IS THE ACCOMMODATION CHILD-FRIENDLY?

Our hotel has many child-friendly facilities and amenities. We can provide you with the following equipment on request: baby cot with bed linen, baby bath, bottle warmer, kettle, toilet seat, potty, step stool, baby monitor, baby chair. Please indicate your equipment needs when booking so that we can provide it for you. We also have a children's pool and playroom for your little ones to enjoy themselves.

WHAT KIND OF ENTERTAINMENT IS AVAILABLE IN THE HOTEL FOR CHILDREN AND FAMILIES?

Foosball, ping-pong table, billiards, air hockey, chess, board games, children's play room, children's animation in high season.

PETS

CAN WE TAKE OUR PET WITH US?

By prior arrangement, small dogs (no hunting/ fighting breeds) or cats up to 10 kg can be brought for a fee, price: 12.900 HUF/night/room, 18.900 HUF/night/villa. 

WHAT PET RELATED SERVICES ARE AVAILABLE?

Our staff will prepare a comfortable bed and bowl for your pet for the duration of their stay.

CAN I TAKE MY PET WITH ME EVERYWHERE?

Pets are allowed in hotel rooms and common areas on a leash. Unfortunately, pets are not allowed in our restaurant or wellness area.

PARKING / ELECTRIC CHARGING STATION

IS THERE PARKING AVAILABLE?

We provide free, outdoor, camera-monitored parking for our hotel guests. We also have 2 parking spaces suitable for charging electric cars (22 kWh), which can be used based on prior reservation and for a fee (TEA registration is required), please prepare a suitable charging cable for charging.

RECREATION/LEISURE

WHAT SPORTS ACTIVITIES ARE AVAILABLE?

1. Hotel Fitness room is available for our guests every day from 06:00 to 22:00

2.Hiking trails. Would you like to go hiking? Or are you just looking for an easy stroll? Put on your hiking boots! The Mátra has a wealth of treasures and a network of 600 km of signposted hiking trails. Explore the area, with marked hiking trails surrounding the hotel and leading as far as Kékestető or Sástó. For all hikers and walkers, there is a network of signposted paths to help the novice hiker reach their destination. If you wish, our kitchen will prepare a cold pack so you don't have to hunt squirrels. You can also buy a tourist map at reception, which will make it even easier to find your way around the forest.

3. Nordic Walking: a real bonding sport, where the aim is not to chase performance, so the whole family can do it together. You, a good walking stick and the beautiful surroundings of the Mátra, and that's all you need! Mátra Nordic Walking awaits you with marked routes, starting boards and heart rate monitoring stations. Hiking poles can be rented at the reception. Specialists are available on request to help you learn and guide you. For further information please contact the reception!

4.Segway experience: If you feel brave enough to ride with over 20 km/h through the forest. All with zero carbon emissions and no noise pollution. Thanks to family-friendly programmes, parents and children can spend time together. Our Segway tours offer parents the opportunity to take the little ones in a safe child carrier with the help of high-tech machines.

5. Oxygen Adrenalin Park Sástó: winter-summer bobsleigh track for everyone, quad track for kids, suspension bridge, canopy for the brave, adventure park for adventurers big and small, climbing wall, eurbungy for sports lovers, guaranteed fun for the whole family.

6. For the little ones there is a petting zoo, for the bigger ones horse riding on a sled, in a corral or in the open.

7. Skiing. Two ski resorts can be reached within 15 by car and they both promise fantastic winter experiences and if you come on a weekday and choose this great sportive pastime, you won't even have to fight the crowds and queues, but can just spend your time sliding around.

WHAT ARE THE EVENING ENTERTAINMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN THE HOTEL?

Our Game Room is located on the 1st floor, where billiards, foosball, table tennis, XBOX and PS5 await those who want to relax. The games are free to use. The Rame Room is directly connected to our Music Lounge evening entertainment venue, where pleasant music, soft sofas, armchairs and colorful cocktails await our guests in the evenings. Our one-lane bowling alley also offers excellent entertainment in the evenings, but also during the day. The bowling alley can be used for a fee: 6.000 HUF / hour.

WHAT IS THE CLASSIFICATION OF THE HOTEL?

Hotel Ózon & Luxury Villas is entitled to use the 4* Superior category certification mark by the Hungarian Tourism Quality Certification Board.

IS THE HOTEL AIR-CONDITIONED?

Our entire hotel building is air-conditioned, as are our 121 rooms and 11 luxury villas.

IS THERE INTERNET ACCESS IN THE HOTEL?

High speed WIFI is available throughout the hotel.

CAN I PAY CASH IN CATERING FACILITIES?

For the convenience of our guests, they can charge their consumption to their room bill, which can be settled at the reception desk on departure. On request, orders can be settled on the spot by cash or credit card.

IS THERE STORAGE FOR BICYCLES?

Yes, there is: in the locked storage room next to the main entrance, with the help of our reception staff.

WHERE CAN YOU SMOKE?

Our hotel is a non-smoking hotel, so smoking is not allowed anywhere in the building! Of course, smoking is allowed outside the building in designated areas.

IS THERE A LIFT IN THE HOTEL?

Yes, the hotel rooms are accessible by lift.

WHAT IS THE TOURIST TAX RATE?

The tourist tax is HUF 550 per person per night (payable from the age of 18).

WHERE CAN I CHANGE MONEY?

You can change money in Gyöngyös.

IS IT POSSIBLE TO STORE LUGGAGE?

Yes, a free luggage storage service is available at reception.

WHERE IS THE NEAREST AVAILABLE ATM?

There are several ATMs in Gyöngyös, on Fő tér.
